These darling utensil caddies are perfect for your 4th of barbecues and all summer long! There’s nothing like red, white, and blue decor to make me want to call up some friends or family and invite them for a BBQ or grab the kids and head to the beach for the day. I designed this Patriotic Mason Jar Utensil Holder Crochet Pattern to add this set to our outdoor dining. I put them out on Memorial Day and look forward to using them all summer long!

I think you might have actually used half pint jars, not pint jars. I just put a plastic knife in one of my half pint (8 oz in USA) mason jars and a plastic knife into a pint mason jar and the knife barely sticks out at the top much at all from the full pint mason jar. I would love to make your adorable jar covers but I want to be sure to have enough of the right jars. Thank you for posting it!

Quick question: The bottom of the cozy seems to be smaller, and wrap under the jar a bit. The pattern seems to have even rows, so how does it do that?
Thanks for a cute pattern!
Kara says
Hi Cheryl 🙂 you are correct. The bottom does not taper at the bottom; it is worked evenly down. Since the yarn has some give to it, it conforms nicely to the curves of the jar. Hope that helps!
Cheryl says
Thank you! I finished the wreath, almost done with the banner. This will be next.

Yay! So excited you made them!!
