I always like to do a little something special for my kids for Valentine’s Day, but as my girls get older it’s hard to find a Valentine treat I think they will like. Since they are crazy about those EOS lip balms I think they’ll really get a kick out of this “You’re the BALM” crochet Valentine! Hope your little sweethearts like it too!
“You’re the BALM” Crochet Valentine
Here’s what you need:
- black worsted weight yarn
- sparkly orange yarn (I used Lion Brand’s Bonbon yarn in Bronze)
- H hook
- an EOS lip balm
- printable

With black yarn, make a magic ring (as an alternative to the magic ring, you can ch 4 and join with a slip stitch in furthest chain from hook to form a ring).
(Note: do not crochet over the beginning tail.)
Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as stitch here and throughout), work 6 sc in ring, join — 6 sts.
Round 2: Ch 1, work 2 sc in same st as join and in each st around, join — 12 sts.
Round 3: Ch 1, work 2 sc in same st as join, 1 sc in next, *2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, rep from * around, join — 18 sts.
Rounds 4 through 7: Ch 1, work 1 sc in same st as join and in each st around, join — 18 sts.
Round 8: Ch 1, beginning in same st as join, *sc2tog, 1 sc in next, rep from * around, join and fasten off — 12 sts.
To make the flame, pull the beginning tail through the top. Cut a few pieces of the orange sparkly yarn, around 3 inches each. Make a tassel with the orange yarn around the tail as shown below. Weave tail back through center of bomb and snip the orange yarn. Weave in ends.
Now just print off this “You’re the BALM” Printable, pop your bomb cozy over an EOS lip balm, and you’ve got a cute Valentine for a special sweetie.
