These Peppermint Swirl Crochet Coasters are perfect for adding holiday charm to your home or for gifting. Work up a set and pair it with some gourmet hot chocolate mix and marshmallows and you have a great gift set!
This Peppermint Swirl Crochet Coasters Pattern follows the same basic design as my Summer Spiral Coaster Pattern but this time I used a slightly heavier yarn weight and of course different colors.
Hope they help to get you in the holiday spirit!

Finished coaster measures approximately 4¼ in. diameter.
Coasters are worked in a spiral; do not join at the end of each round. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round, and move it up as you work.
With white, make a magic ring (as an alternative to the magic ring, you can ch 4 and join with a slip stitch in furthest chain from hook to form a ring).
Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as st here and throughout), work 6 sc in ring, — 6 sts.
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around — 12 sts.
Round 3: *2 sc in next, 1 sc in next, rep from * around — 18 sts.
Round 4: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, rep from * around — 24 sts.
Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, rep from * around — 30 sts.
Round 6: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, rep from * around — 36 sts.
Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, rep from * around — 42 sts.
Slip st in next 2 sts and fasten off.
Now we will add our spiral design by working surface stitches with red yarn. To work a surface stitch, keep your working yarn at the back of your work, insert your hook from front to back through the top of the first stitch from Round 1 and pick up a loop of yarn, *insert your hook from front to back through next st, pick up yarn and pull through loop on your hook (1 surface stitch made). Continue from * around until all stitches are worked. For step-by-step photos see my Summer Spiral Coaster Pattern.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
