A new year is a great time to reflect on the year past and look ahead to new goals and resolutions, both personal and crafty. As fellow crocheters you can probably relate to some of my New Year’s resolutions for crocheters below!
I also found these neat printable calendars from The Idea Room that look great for tracking goals and habits you want to focus on.
Resolutions for Crocheters
This year I will try to …
- only buy yarn when I have a pattern already picked for it and I know nothing in my stash will work
- finish one project before beginning another
- find a project to use up all my orphan yarn
- learn a new skill … perhaps hairpin lace
- organize my stash
- experiment with new color combinations
- find a pattern that will challenge me and help you learn a new skill or technique
- just do it … set aside even 10 minutes a day to sit, crochet, and unwind
- make more projects for charity
- destash and donate
- set up a date to stitch with a friend
- finally get to those patterns I have saved in my Ravelry library

I cannot resolve to not accept yarn from friends who never find the time to use it, and can’t resist buying more. So I use their gifted yarns for gifts for them. A lap throw for her 100 plus wheelchair bound father who’s birth day is the same as mine. Scarfs for her, her sister and her niece. The rest is made into baby blankets/throws for gift giving/donations.

I resolve ( yeah! ha ha ha!) to finish my 2 dozen started projects before starting another one. Also to use up my room full (yes, ROOM FULL) of yarn before buying any more.

How about finish the projects you have started and never finished! LOL

Happy New Year Kara. Great list of resolutions. I am hoping to blog more consistently and work on finishing my stash before buying any more yarn (hopefully)! 😀
Have a fantastic year.

Your list sounds like mine. A huge list scares me so I started a monthly one with few goals and what I want to accomplish for the month. My plan is to increase the goals throughout the year.

The first resolution for me is funny. Buy only yarn I NEED. I am a yarn hoarder and will admit it.

Kara, you might consider assisted living facilities, hospitals, homeless shelters, schools, etc for your orphan yarn. Twofold result: others benefit & you can buy more yarn😊 Happy New Year.
