Finished afghan measures approximately 78 in. × 65 in. not including fringe
Notes:
- This afghan is worked from the right side only, do not turn after each row.
- Leave a tail of about 4 inches at the beginning of each row.
- Fasten off and leave a tail of about 4 inches end of each row.
- The “knit” effect of this afghan is achieved by working in the “third loop” or “middle loop” of each half double crochet stitch of the row below. If you have never worked in the third loop, it appears on the back side of each half double crochet stitch (see photo below). Just yarn over and insert your hook through that third loop and complete your half double crochet as usual (that is, yarn over again and pull through the loop, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook).
- For a cleaner look, replace the initial ch 2 of each row with a standing stitch, see How to Crochet Standing Stitches for help.
With CA, ch 167 (or work a Foundation Half Double Crochet of 165 sts, fasten off and continue to Row 2).
Row 1: Work 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each chain across, fasten off — 165 hdc.
Row 2: Join CA, in third loop of first hdc and ch 2 (or work a standing st) , work 1 hdc in the third loop of the next st and each st across, fasten off — 165 hdc.
Continue joining yarn and working this repeat rows per the color sequence below …
Repeat Row: Join yarn, in third loop of first hdc and ch 2 (or work a standing st) , work 1 hdc in the third loop of the next st and each st across, fasten off — 165 hdc.

Sure, here you go … it just looks like basic half double crochet rows from the back …
