Work up this adorable soccer ball pattern for your little soccer star! The crochet soccer ball is great for indoor play with no worries about damaging furniture or woodwork. It’s a great size for little hands but could easily become a sweet keepsake for older kids who love soccer as well.
This free soccer ball pattern uses basic crochet stitches worked in the round to create pentagons and hexagons that, when attached, round to form this adorable crochet soccer ball! I’ve also included a graphic at the end of the post to help with placement when piecing your ball together.

Here is what you will need:
- 1 skein each of black and white worsted weight yarn (I really like how cotton holds up for this)

Finishing
Now we are going to turn all those crochet pieces into a soccer ball! Using the illustration above as a guide to placement, Sl st pieces together through back loops only and with right sides facing.
When only one piece remains, stuff ball with polyester fiberfill to desired consistency. Use a tapestry needle to whip stitch remaining piece in place.

I’ve made two of these – one in black and white for my grandson and one in pink and white for my granddaughter. They love to play indoor soccer with them and dodgeball with their dad. I didn’t stuff them really tight, like a regular because I knew they would want to play with them in the house. They’ve had them for quite a while now, and nothing’s been broken yet!
Easy to make (just have to get the count right – sometimes grammas forget how to count). Great pattern.
